Getting Started

How to set up Apple Pay on your iPhone

Easily add your Dynamoney card to your Apple Pay wallet following the steps below:

  • Open Apple Wallet on your compatible iPhone

  • To get started, simply tap on the plus symbol (+)

  • Tap “Dynamoney” under the “From Apps on your iPhone” heading

  • Log on at the authentication screen

  • Select the Dynamoney card you want to add and follow the prompts

Other Devices

Apple Watch

  1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone
  2. Go to the My Watch tab, tap wallet and Apple Pay
  3. Click add card and follow the prompts

 

iPad

  1. Go to settings on your iPad
  2. Tap Wallet and Apple Pay
  3. Select add credit or debit card to add the card affiliated with your iTunes account, otherwise select ‘add a different card’
  4. Using your iPad or iPhone camera scan your Dynamoney card

MacBook Pro with Touch ID

  1. Go to system preferences on your MacBook
  2. Click on Wallet and Apple Pay
  3. Select add card
  4. To add your Dynamoney card select ‘add a different card’ and use your iPhone camera to scan the card information

Setting up Express Mode

Only available on the Opal network in Australia.

  1. Check your iPhone is running iOS version 16.4 or later
  2. Update your operating system if needed then open Apple Wallet and select add card
  3. Tap (…) to add the card details
  4. Select Express Transit Settings and confirm the card
  5. Now you are ready to tap on and off at any NSW transport service on the Opal network without needing to unlock your iPhone or Apple Watch

Paying with Apple Pay

With your Dynamoney card seamlessly integrated into your Apple Pay wallet, making purchases has never been more straightforward. Just unlock your iPhone or Apple Watch and hold it near the payment terminal for in-store transactions. Or, when shopping online, simply select Apple Pay at the checkout.

Forget worrying about remembering your card details or filling out endless forms. Simply tap or click the button anywhere you see the Apple Pay or Contactless Pay logo.

In-Store

Look for the ‘tap to pay’ symbol on the card reader and then follow these steps to use Apple Pay:

  • If you have Face ID on your iPhone: Double-press the side button, glance at your screen, and hold your iPhone near the card reader.
  • If you have Touch ID on your iPhone: Hold your iPhone close to the card reader and keep your finger on Touch ID.
  • If you are using an Apple Watch: Double-press the side button and hold your Apple Watch up to the card reader.

In-app & Online

When shopping in-app or on your Safari web browser, choose Apple Pay at the checkout. To finalise the payment:

  • On your iPhone or iPad: Utilise Face ID or Touch ID
  • On your MacBook: Use Touch ID on the Touch Bar
  • On other compatible Macs: Utilise your iPhone or Apple Watch

Express Mode

Just hold your iPhone or Apple Watch near the Opal reader to make a payment before using public transport. With Express Mode, there’s no requirement to authenticate with Face ID or open any apps.

MasterCard Debit Card payment network

To modify the default network for your eligible debit Mastercard, follow these steps:

  • On your iPhone: Open the Wallet app, tap on your card, tap the three-dot button in the top right-hand corner, then choose the payment network.
  • On your Apple Watch: Double-press the side button and select your card, then firmly press the display and select the payment network.

FAQ's

Can I add multiple cards to Apple Pay on my device?

Of course, you can add multiple Dynamoney cards to Apple Pay on compatible devices and set a default card. But keep in mind that if you have more than one card added, you need to select the specific card you want to use before making a purchase.

How do I change my default card in Apple Pay?

To change your default card in Apple Wallet, follow these steps based on your device:

For iPhone or iPad:
1. Go to Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay.
2. Scroll down to “Transaction Defaults.”
3. Tap “Default Card” and select a new card.

For Apple Watch:
1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
2. Go to the “My Watch” tab.
3. Scroll down and tap “Wallet & Apple Pay.”
4. Then, select “Default Card” and choose a new card.

For Mac with Touch ID:
1. Navigate to System Preferences > Wallet & Apple Pay.
2. Choose a new card from the “Default Card” pop-up menu.

How secure is an Apple Pay Transaction?

Apple Pay prioritises security and privacy. Apple incorporates security features within the hardware and software of your device to safeguard your transactions. Apple does not store or have access to your complete card details, and these details are never stored on your device or shared with merchants when using Apple Pay. Merchants only receive your Device Account Number.

Every transaction requires authorization through your Touch ID, Face ID, or device passcode, with a confirmation displayed in the Wallet app. This confirmation includes the merchant name, location and time of the transaction, and the payment or refund amount.

In case of a lost device, you can utilise Apple’s Find My app to remotely lock or erase the data on your device, including your card details, to prevent unauthorized Apple Pay transactions.

Are there any additional fees or charges for adding my Dynamoney card to Apple Pay?

No, there are no additional fees to add your card or use Apple Pay.

Do I still need to use my car PIN with Apple Pay?

On occasions where transactions exceed the contactless limit, you might be required to enter your physical card PIN at the merchant terminal when using Apple Pay in a store.
